Type Your Hearts Out

Today you will not find the "voice" you are familiar reading on this blog-o'-Jessie's. I am substituting this afternoon because it is my way of celebrating the mostest specialest of days, which you all know to be September 20 or Kiss Pants' birthday. Is not this woman wonder worth accolades? Admirations? Affections? Gratitudes? Gifts? Games? Cakes? Candles? Comments [this is where you all help me today]? Kisses [this is where I help all you today]? Songs? Singings? Praises? Parties? And pinches? We are celebrating 25 young years of one helluva woman. For my part, I cannot imagine workaday drudgery that didn't end with Jessica. Dull days need to end with an up, a light, and a comet's tail. And they do. And that would be enough if Jess were only sunshine. But she is guileless besides, and an angelic mother (and all of a father's comfort comes from whom his boy is at home with); she is classy, sassy, silly, sincere, dear, wise, witty, sleepy in the mornings, everything, and all mine. So for the love of this singular girl please rally your digits and let's see if we can't birthday blog her to death. Jessica Sumsion Kay Patch: I love you forever with all my Marty heart. Happy Birthday.

The Suzkitten

Suzy, my younger sister, has been training for the Nike Woman's Marathon in San Fransisco. She has been training with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program where she not only does her miles, but has also nearly reached her goal of raising $4000 to be donated to the research and curing of cancer. She has several hundred dollars left to go and needs your help! She and her fellow team members have compiled this cookbook in an effort to raise the funds. She put in a lot of our family's, "Mama Jan's" recipes, so we know they are good! The #1 cookie recipe, Hummingbird Cake, Jan's Rice, (my mouth is totally watering while I type this!) If you would like a cookbook she is selling them for $15.00. You can leave a comment on my blog or go to her blog on my side bar. "Suzy" Also, if you are feeling very generous you could also donate to the cause directly through her Team in Training website. Here is the link

Here is an excerpt from her blog:

Because I am doing this marathon to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society I need to fundraise. I have $660 dollars to raise by October 4th, that is less than 3 weeks away. I know that money is tight right now and gas is expensive and groceries are getting more expensive but people are still being diagnosed and dying from this horrible disease.

Help the Suzkitten do the Marathon and help cure Cancer!

Buy a Cookbook!

Thanks!

Test Audience

Marty did this commercial for the Downstream Collition and he can't decide which commercial will be best to air. They have different music, different writing, etc. The footage is the same. Please watch both of them and tell us which version you like the best. If you have any other ideas please tell us too! This would be so helpful because y'all haven't seen it! (Unlike Marty and I who have seen over and over again!)

Version 1

Version 2

Some thoughts: What of replacing Intellectual Property with the words Good Fortune or Gold Mine or .... Tell us your thoughts!

Thanks!

Separated at Birth

This has totally been making me laugh. They look so much alike. This will make for some good political humor and SNL.

Princess

My friend Karen had this on her blog and it was really fun! This appeals to my princess, pink clothes and barbie days. I was Belle

You Are Belle!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Intelligent and kind. Your beauty goes much further than your apperance. Also, you make judgements of people based on their personality and not their looks. Attaining all the knowledge that you can is one of your major goals in life, but you are also a person who can make things happen.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

I don't know, but I do like Belle. So take the quiz and tell me who you are!

My Life of Late

Marty and Graham in the kitchen before bedtime. Graham has been off his sleeping schedule and I've been going a little bit nuts. The only way I have enough strength and energy to take care of him all day is if I can actually sit down when he naps. It's been a bit of a dilemma, but I think he is pretty much back on track. Anyone got tips on what to do with a Grandma that rocks him to sleep in her arms while your out of town? Love you Mom!

Playing our daily game of Peek-a-boo behind the drapes

My Glitter toes! They are the answer to my pedicure needs. They last for about 6 weeks and they will not chip. This color is a bright coral and I like it. I feel like I need to be wearing a jeweled bikini though.

Just turn your head. I have no idea why this picture is sideways and I'm too lazy to fix it. These are some little handouts I made for my Mom's lesson in Relief Society. She is the Relief Society Coordinator in a BYU ward. They turned out pretty cute and who doesn't love Sundance suckers?

So my sister Suz had the great idea to try these Bundtettes! We were trying to copy these Nothingbundtcakes. It was a sad showing in my opinion. I think it turned out more like a breast than a bundt!

Trying to teach Graham to wear the headphones when he plays the piano. (Yes, we have a digital piano. It was the answer to Marty wanting to practice in the wee hours of the morn. The man wakes up at 5am!)

Suprise there is a FLASH!

I have felt better this week than last which is such a relief. I have a hard time when the downs last.
I'm loving being a mom and a wife. I think it is my perfect fit.

I also LOVE September!

Wow!

I cannot believe August is over already! My sister in law Jill was in town the entire month with her three beautiful children McKay, Elle and Anna. We did lots of swimming and playing at Nan's house. To be totally honest I got really worn down last week after trying to keep up with everyone else. I figure it takes about 3 times the energy it is used to do anything! I got a cold and my heart was acting up, but I'm feeling better this week, so back to blogging. Here are a lot of great photos from the last month.

Summary: Graham won't hold still at 10 months

Cousin's swim lunch at my Aunt Char's. So many kids! So much fun!

McKay, Nan and Elle

Elle's successful jump off the diving board. This is for her and her Daddy!

Max: The Hot Dog

Who really wants a hot furry animal on your back in 90 degree weather?

Anna, McKay, Nan, Graham and Elle

Elle with the classic roller skates that velcro over your shoes. I'm pretty sure many generation to come with fall and slip on the wood floor while trying to master the skates. I loved them when I was small and they seem to as well.
