Mother's Day!

My plan is to recap a wonderful Mother's Day in a few words!

1. Breakfast in Bed (via my brother Brett and nephew McKay!) It was delicious and so special! I want everyone to note the morning hair! Can anyone beat it? Jill laughed when she saw me and then showed me a picture of a Persian Cat that had my EXACT hair!

2.Church: Brett and Jill's ward was an event that could not be missed!

3. Two hour train ride from Philly to NYC.

4. Drop off Luggage at beautiful hotel.

5. Walk through NYC to Wicked.

6. Love Wicked!

7. Walk to delicious restaurant for Anniversary/ Mother's Day Feast!

8. Change heels for tennis shoes (wow!)

9. Visit Nicole and Spencer in their lovely apartment. Talk about their upcoming Twins.... which are now here! Congrats you guys! They are so beautiful and I'm seriously disappointed that I wasn't there for the delivery! I had high hopes in would be the same week!

10. Take the Subway back to our hotel at Midnight, eat a hot dog in Time Square (well I just kept eating Marty's) and then crash in Bed. It was a whirlwind of fun!

Thank you! Thank you!

We had the most wonderful time in Delaware visiting Brett, Jill and their family! Marty and I are both in love with the East! I have so many pictures of our trip - so here are a few!

Their home is surrounded by a forest with trees 100 feet tall (I'm not sure they are 100 feet, but they are very very tall!)

Their backyard is a haven! Graham wanted to play morning and night on the swing set. This is just one of the insights I gained while on this trip that it is time to get serious about a home with a yard!

Wolverine

Don't worry about the markings! They are just showing where the Adamantium will be placed when he is ready for his metal alloy skeleton and claws!

My little wolverine will have a different childhood than his mother and Papa Mark! No peanut butter spoons for him! (But I foresee other good treats, so don't panic)

He was as good as an 18 month could be during all of his allergy testing. We discovered he is allergic to all nuts and eggs. The doctor wasn't too concerned about eggs because kids can often outgrow that allergy. But the nuts are a different story! He said that a 7mm reaction could indicate a future fatal reaction and Graham's was a 9 mm reaction. So I now read every label and am finding that cooking at home seems to be the best bet for knowing exactly what is in our food.

I know a lot of people have children with peanut allergies so if anyone has a good resource I would love to learn more about it. I find new things every day that we should stay away from... like 5 Guys Burgers uses peanut oil for everything! Who Knew?

After the whole morning was over and I was being lectured by the doctor on how serious this really is, Graham fell ASLEEP in my arms! ASLEEP! He hasn't ever done this! He was so wiped out that he could keep his tiny curly head up! I laid him down on the table while the nurses check us out and I carried him to the car.

I couldn't help but think of Hugh Jackman. If anyone knows me, they know I have a "movie-star-crush" on Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) He is a total babe and Marty has accepted it! (I asked him if we could move to Australia and if he thought he could acquire an accent) As I carried Graham I thought of Wolverine with all his markings ready for Adamantium placement. Just a few days before we were watching Wolverine (X-Men) and I was giddy to watch an entire movie with Hugh Jackman's handsomeness. Now I was looking down at my little Wolverine with all his Markings and thought: No this little boy is the most handsome thing I've ever seen! All the silly/light/fantasy feelings in the world do not compare to my deep and total love for my son.

This is how I feel about blogging! I'm in a mess and I need to catch up! Marty is working on his talk tomorrow for the Young Mens Sacrament Meeting and I'm very relaxed on the couch. We just finished the season finalee of LOST and I'm totally upset that I have to wait until next February (2010) to see what happens! I just have to forget about it- I did it once before and I'm going to have to do it again.

Well, just to preface what is to come, we have been busy! Graham was diagnosed with a fatally strong peanut allergy, we were on a 10 day tour of the country: Philly, NYC, Wilmington, Dallas and plane stops in between. There have been serious discussion about moving to SLC, and looking at a particular home in SLC that needs a lot of work (so why are we even looking at it? I'm so tired!) Oh, yes and we get to go to a black-tie event next Saturday that I need to find a modest/ beautiful formal! (Any suggestions?)

I feel a little better. Hopefully I can get back on the wagon and quit dragging my feet! I truly do love to keep a record of the goings-on of life. Thanks for reading my vent tonight! Have a happy sabbath!
